With more essential services requiring internet access, a suitable device and the necessary skills, we understand the importance of being online.
Get online week is happening from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 October - this is a great opportunity to strengthen your digital skills and find a local event, where support will be available! Find an event near you on the Good Things Foundation website.
Outside of Get Online week, there are a range of organisations and websites providing help with using devices and getting the most out of the internet all year round. Lincs Digital, a local charity working with us, are helping residents with digital skills.
Lincs Digital offer free digital support drop-in sessions across South Holland to help people access and navigate online services. The assistance they can offer includes:
- SHDC website support: Planning, Council Tax, Housing queries
- Pension Credit support: check if they are eligible to apply using checker
- Databank: Talk to our team about getting online
- NHS support: Help with Apps, website, and online GP services
- Essential Digital Skills: Learn online with our tutor support
- Lincolnshire County Council: Assistance with Blue Badge applications, highways, health, and social care
- Gov.uk Services: Support and awareness to access these services
- Scam Awareness: Stay informed and protected
- Personal Support: Discuss any fears or struggles with our friendly team
- Assisted Digital: Our goal is to provide help, support, and skill development through learning and assistance. We are committed to supporting every community member and strongly believe that everyone has the right to opt out of digital engagement if they choose. Our team is dedicated to assisting anyone with the digital applications they need to complete.
No judgment, just face-to-face guidance and understanding from the friendly and knowledgeable Lincs Digital team.

Digital and technological support is also available on the following websites:
- Connect to support: Lincolnshire - a range of resources to help those struggling to use digital technology.
- National Databank - ran by the Good Things Foundation, this provides free mobile SIM cards for those who can't access the internet. SIM cards are regularly donated by Virgin Media 02, Vodafone and Three - applocations and memberships can be managed on their website.
- National Device Bank - also ran by the Good Things Foundation, providing refurbished laptops, mobile phones and tablets to those who are not able to access a device.
- Ofcom - offering Social Tariffs, which are cheaper broadband and phone packages for people who are claiming universal credit, pension credit, and some other benefits.
- Digital training - Skills365, funded by Lincolnshire County Council, offers training at a range of libraries, such as in Boston, Grantham, Lincoln, Mablethorpe, Skegness and more! Courses delivered to small groups are available on internet and email, spreadsheets, word processing, as well as job searching, and selling things online.
