Tenancy support
We provide person centred support to tenants who may be experiencing difficulties with their tenancy, including:
- Tackling and reducing rent arrears
- Providing support and advice to claim benefits you may be entitled to
- Assistance with managing your finances and budgeting
- Managing additional rent charges due to under occupation sometimes known as 'bedroom tax'
- Providing guidance on accessing GP services, Schools, and Employment advice
- Help with utility bills
- Support with accessing specialist services, for example mental health, drugs and alcohol support services or care needs
- Help with tackling anything that might be putting your tenancy at risk. We are here to help you.

The service is supportive and preventative, helping you to get on top of your tenancy and avoid the risk of further tenancy-related issues. Support is free. This service is only available to SHDC tenants.
