What this Privacy Notice covers

Your privacy is very important to South Holland District Council.

South Holland District Council is the Data Controller responsible for the personal information you may provide in relation to household waste collections. The following are elements within the overall heading of household waste collections:

  • weekly refuse and recycling collections
  • bulky waste collections
  • assisted collections
  • clinical waste collections
  • Christmas Tree collections
  • provision of refuse and recycling containers
  • recycling advice.

Your data will be processed by Public Sector Partnership Services Ltd (PSPS), formerly known as Compass Point Business Services, a company owned by East Lindsey and South Holland District Councils.

Why we need your personal data

Your information will be used to provide household waste collections. The legal basis for processing your data is Article 6.1(e) of the General Data Protection Regulations, namely that processing is necessary for the performance of a public task in the public interest or for the councils functions. The duty has a clear basis in law, as set out in The Environmental Protection Act 1990 and its associated regulations, which place a legal obligation to collect household waste.

How your data is used

We will only use your data for the specific purpose of the collection of household waste.

How long the information is kept for

We will keep your details for the period we provide the service to collect household waste on your behalf and delete the data within six years.
