Street cleansing privacy notice

Your privacy is very important to South Holland District Council.

What this Privacy Notice covers

South Holland District Council is the Data Controller responsible for the personal information you may provide in relation to street cleansing. The following are elements within the overall heading of street cleansing:

  • routine mechanical and hand sweeping
  • routine litter / dog bin emptying
  • litter and detritus removal
  • fly-tip removal
  • dead animal removal
  • graffiti removal
  • provision, repair and maintenance of litter or dog bins
  • public toilet cleaning
  • market cleaning.

Your data will also be processed by our contractor Bartec Auto ID Ltd, Unit 9 Redbrook Business Park, Wilthorpe Road, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S75 1JN.

Why we need your personal data

Your information will be used to provide street cleansing. The legal basis for processing your data is Article 6.1(e) of the General Data Protection Regulations, namely that processing is necessary for the performance of a public task in the public interest or for the councils functions. The duty has a clear basis in law, as set out in The Environmental Protection Act 1990 and its associated regulations, which place a legal obligation to provide street cleansing.  

How your data is used

We will only use your data for the specific purpose of street cleansing.

How long the information is kept for

We will keep your details for the period we provide the service of street cleansing on your behalf and delete the data within 6 years.
