The Housing Register application process

About the application

On average, it takes an hour to complete our application. It may take longer if you have a large family. As part of this, you will need to set up an account on our tenant's portal. If you get stuck, please refer to our instructions - these cover setting up an account, applying to the Register and help if you have forgotten your log-in details.

You can find the instruction guide here:  Instructions for applying to the Housing Register (PDF) [1MB] (opens new window) .

Once you have all of the information required, you can proceed and apply online.

Don't forget, to apply to the Housing Register you will need the documentation listed on our Applying to join the Housing Register page:

  • Identification for each adult
  • Identification for each child
  • Immigration paperwork for non-UK citizens
  • Proof of address for each applicant
  • Proof of income for each applicant
  • Information regarding your current home
  • Information regarding housing debt
  • Where applicable:
    • Medical information
    • Proof of pregnancy
    • Current or former British Armed Forces information

Please ensure you have all of this information available when applying. We will reject incomplete applications.

We are pleased to welcome new properties in Quadring, Crowland, Moulton Chapel and Deeping St Nicholas this year.  Please add these locations to your application if you would like to be considered for them.

What happens next?

We'll only be able to process your application when you've provided all the supporting documents we ask for. Once we have everything we need, it can take up to four weeks to hear from us.  Please do not contact us during this time.

We will write to you to confirm the outcome of your application.  If you are accepted onto the register, we will confirm your banding and how things work.   You do not bid on properties - we will contact you once we have a property that is suitable for you.  You will be required to provide up to four weeks' rent in advance, before you can have the keys for a property - you must start saving for this.
