New homes for Christmas for a number of families in Surfleet

A number of families in South Holland will be in new homes in time for Christmas thanks to a South Holland District Council's new housing acquisitions which completed last week.

From this week (w/c 18th December), eight rented homes in Surfleet, are ready for families to move in to, in time for the Christmas holidays.

These semi-detached homes are a mixture of one, two, and three -bedroomed. These eight affordable homes, have been allocated to households on the South Holland District Council Housing Register in accordance with the Council's Allocations Policy.

In addition to the eight rented homes, the Council has acquired four additional houses in Surfleet, which will be offered for sale to residents on a shared ownership basis.

The Council has directly invested over £1Million to deliver these homes.

Councillor Gary Taylor, Portfolio Holder for Strategic Housing at South Holland District Council, says: "In addressing the pressing housing needs of our district, we take pride in providing not just homes, but a promise of quality and affordability. These new residences stand as a testament to our commitment to fostering a thriving community for all."

Councillor Tracey Carter, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Operational Housing, said: "I'm extremely pleased to see that local families have been given the opportunity to be in new homes in time for Christmas.

"We celebrate the warmth of new homes and the spirit of community as families find affordable joy in their council-supported haven. I wish the new residents well."
