We want your views on how your waste and recycling is collected

Residents are being asked their views on how household waste and recycling is collected.

Waste survey

Starting today (Monday 15 July), residents are able to take part in a survey giving them the opportunity to review the current waste and recycling service.

Running until Sunday 25 August, residents can find the survey here: www.sholland.gov.uk/WasteSurvey. South Holland District Council are also holding consultation events on market days in Spalding, Holbeach, Crowland and Long Sutton in the next few weeks.

There will also be paper copies of the survey at reception in Priory Road offices in Spalding, and there will be a leaflet drop to every household in the South Holland area to ensure all residents have an opportunity to have their say.

Leaflets in different languages will be available, and residents who are visually impaired will be able to access the survey by emailing info@sholland.gov.uk or calling 01775 761161.

The council are also conducting the survey to address upcoming Government changes to household waste collection services across all of the UK. These changes, driven by environmental concerns and changes to legislation, will see the introduction of weekly food waste collections across England by March 2026.

The survey aims to identify potential areas for improvement, while ensuring the council collects residents' waste and recycling as efficiently as possible.

With the food waste collection changes on the horizon, we have an opportunity to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of our operations.

"We really value the input of our residents in shaping the future of our collections. The feedback we receive will play a crucial role in guiding our decisions and ensuring that the waste collection services we provide are tailored to meet the needs of our community.
