South Holland District Council waste consultation results
At Wednesday night's meeting (2nd October), Cllr Nick Worth, Leader of the Council shared the results of our district-wide consultation on the future of refuse services.
What we can see from the results is that 79% of our residents surveyed said increasing the type and amount of recycling is important
With a total of 8,576 responses, the residents preference is:
49% in favour of wheelie bins
51% prefer to retain the current green and black bags
Our officers are now preparing a report with a number of options that the council could take forward, which may include a mix of bags and bins and will include a separate food waste collection to meet the Government requirements. The full report will go before councillors at the end of the year.
