We welcomed the Housing Ombudsman's Chief Operating Officer to South Holland meet at a social event

Ombudsman visit 1

The event gave tenants the chance to find out more about the Housing Ombudsman service and raise any concerns.

We work closely with the Housing Ombudsman to give customers every opportunity to resolve matters relating to their tenancy.

Around 45 residents attended the event in person with a number of tenants in advance submitting questions beforehand.

As well as hearing from Housing Ombudsman's Chief Operating Officer, Andrea Keenoy, and her colleagues John, Steven and Helen, South Holland District Council officers were also on hand to talk to customers about individual concerns. All matters raised have since been followed up with appointments booked in to resolve issues.

Andrea Keenoy, Chief Operating Officer for the Housing Ombudsman, said: "These events are a great way for the Ombudsman and councils across England to bring residents together to find out more about who we are and what we do and ensure residents know their rights around complaints, as well as for us to listen to their issues and concerns. Events like these are vital to us to ensure we can capture customer insight and listen and act on all feedback to provide a better service across England."

Councillor Tracey Carter, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Operational Housing at South Holland District Council, said: "We were delighted to welcome Andrea Keenoy and her colleagues to South Holland. Our tenants are at the heart of everything we do and strong partnerships with organisations like the Housing Ombudsman are crucial to ensure we deliver safe and decent homes for our tenants.

"We will continue to work in partnership with the Housing Ombudsman, and we'd love to host similar events in the future to give more tenants the opportunity to attend."

Seats for this session were booked on a first come, first served basis and anyone who was interested but couldn't attend the session was able to submit their questions prior to the event. All questions and answers can now be found online at https://www.sholland.gov.uk/housing-ombudsman
