Object or comment on a planning application

When commenting on an application, it is important to ensure you focus on planning related matters. Examples of planning related matters are:

  • traffic and parking
  • appearance of the area
  • impact on Conservation Area or Listed Building
  • noise and disturbance
  • overshadowing
  • privacy.

We often get objections or comments which are not planning related matters and so cannot be taken into consideration, such as:

  • loss of private view
  • effect on property values
  • derogatory remarks about applicants or neighbours.

Please note that we are unable to acknowledge or respond to individual third party objections or comments on applications due to the high volume we receive. However, please be assured that all valid comments are considered.

View our Planning Development Management and Enforcement privacy notice for information on how your data and comments are used.

We can accept comments in writing or via email, although our recommended method is by using our online comments facility (opens new window), using the 'Enter Comments' option.

You can also use the above email address if you need further advice on how to comment or what are considered planning related matters.
