Surrender a Vehicle Licence

In order to surrender your vehicle licence, you must return the following items to us:

  • Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Vehicle Plates
  • Internal Shields
  • Paper Licence.

These items should be returned to our Council Offices, along with a covering letter confirming the reason and date of surrender. The return address is:

South Holland District Council
Council Offices
Licensing Team
Priory Road
Spalding
PE11 2XE

All plates, stickers etc must be removed from the surrender date and the vehicle can no longer be used as a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire vehicle.

We will not issue any refund for any remaining licence period.

You should amend your insurance to remove Hackney Carriage/Private Hire cover, where the vehicle may be used for domestic purposes again.
