Change of circumstances

If you are Business Rates payer and your circumstances change, you must contact us as soon as possible. This is so that we can update your details and make sure you are getting any reductions you are entitled to. 

• If you are moving into or out of a business property, please complete and return the change of occupier form (PDF, 17 KB)(opens new window).
• For other changes, please email us businessrates@sholland.gov.uk or call on 01775 761161 and select the Business Rates option.

Protecting your information

Information you give us will be used according to the law, in particular the Data Protection Act 2018. Your information will only be used for Council purposes unless there is a legal authority to do otherwise.

We have a legal duty to pass information to HM Revenue and Customs. This information can include details about your Business Rates account, such as: your business name, business address, billing address, occupancy details, premises description and amount payable.
