Dead animal notification

You can report a dead animal on the highway or publicly owned land to us. If you find a dead animal on the highway or any public land, we can arrange removal. We can collect many types of animals ranging from cats and dogs, to ducks and foxes.

To report a dead animal, please use our online dead animal notification form (opens new window) or contact Customer Services. We will aim to collect the animal within 24 hours.

If the animal is likely to be a family pet, it will be taken to a local veterinary surgery where it is kept for a period of seven days in case the owner comes forward. Any other animal is disposed of by our Environmental Services team.
