Sharps collections
Sharps collection is the collection of used syringes, needles and/or other sharp instruments.
A collection facility for used syringes is provided at The Council Offices, Priory Road, Spalding, PE11 2XE.
The following guidelines must be adhered to:
- We only accept the syringes if placed in the sealed sharps Containers.
- We can only accept the sharp containers that are 5 litres or less.
- We request you to place your sharps containers in the receptacle(bin) in the reception area.
- Council staff will not handle any sharps and/or containers.
- We reserve the right to refuse if sharps are not presented in the correct way.
- We do not provide any replacement sharps containers. Please contact your GP or pharmacy to request them.
For Your Information
We also promote the use of needle clipping device which is used to clip the needles, sharps and/or other elements from your syringes.
- Once the needles or sharps is clipped off please dispose the syringes as part of your Refuse household waste bin. (Please note If you do not clip the needle it will cause harm to the refuse collective operatives).
- Once the needle clipping device is full please tape it up and dispose it as part of your refuse household waste.
If you aren't able to bring your sharps container to the Council Offices, you can request a sharps collection.
