Fundraising without a grant

This page gives advice on the different ways a community group could raise funds for their various activities and projects, without the need to apply for a grant.

  • Gift Aid

  • Recycling schemes

  • Legacies
    People can gift money to your charity in their will. Visit the Legacy Fundraising website (opens new window) for more information.
     
  • Search engines
    The EasySearch website (opens new window) allows free fundraising for schools, charities, sports clubs and other good causes.
     
  • Crowd funding
    Use social media to raise donations and bids from the public. The Crowd Funder website (opens new window) is commonly used for funding creative projects within the arts, music etc.
     
  • Easy fundraising / shopping portals
    Portals are linked to shopping labels which offer online shopping. Every purchase made via the portal generates a donation to a chosen charity of your choice (including yours, if registered).   • Corporate donations
    consider building relationships with local businesses who could offer resources; either financial or labour (for example, team away days or employee supported volunteering).
