Business grants privacy notice

Your privacy is very important to South Holland District Council.

South Holland District Council is the Data Controller responsible for the personal information you may provide in relation to Business Rate Grant and any other financial package announced by national government as part of the response to COVID-19. Your data will be processed by Public Sector Partnership Services Ltd (PSPS), formerly known as Compass Point Business Services, a company which is owned and controlled by East Lindsey and South Holland District Councils. You may be contacted for research purposes and your data will be shared with Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy for research and evaluation purposes.

Why we need your personal data

The personal and financial information you provide will only be used by South Holland District Council, the Data Controller, in accordance with the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 to: Administer and make payment of any Business Rate Grant and any other financial package announced by national government as part of the response to COVID-19.

The legal basis for processing your data is Article 6.1(c) of the General Data Protection Regulations to comply with our legal obligations under The Coronavirus Act 2020

How your data is used

Any contact details provided will be held on Business Rates records to enable prompt contact for the purpose of administering this grant, and for future business rates administration.

Your personal information will not be shared with any third party other than our data processor or with Central Government or Grant awarding bodies for the purposes of the spend.

How long the information is kept for

Your personal data will be kept in accordance with the Council's retention policy and schedule.

Your rights

In accordance with Act and your data rights you have a right to:

  • have a copy of the personal information that we hold about you. Details of how to obtain this are available via email. However there may be some delay in you receiving this information at this time.
  • have any incorrect details corrected or removed subject to certain limitations.
  • complain to the Council's data protection officer in the first instance via email. If your complaint is not resolved you may then complain to the Information Commissioner (opens new window).
