Report a missed collection
You can report a missed collection to us for your:
- refuse
- recycling
- bulky waste
- garden waste.
Before reporting a missed collection, please check your scheduled collection days and read the guidance given on this page. If you've correctly followed the guidance and your waste has not been collected by 4pm on the scheduled day of collection, please use our online report a missed waste collection service (opens new window).
Missed refuse collection
Your refuse (in black bags), or any garden waste should be put out at your property's curtilage by 6am on the correct day for it to be collected, but no earlier than 6pm on the day before the collection.
If your black bags and/or purple plastic sacks were not put out on time, or left in the wrong place, you will need to take it back in and then put it out for collection on your next scheduled refuse day in the correct place.
We will not collect any black bags containing garden waste. Please remove any garden waste from black bags before leaving them out for collection. Only refuse in black bags will be collected.
We will not collect any bags left in a container or bin, we will not return to collect these items until they are presented correctly at the curtilage. (Terms and conditions for our refuse collections are referenced in out waste guidance).
Missed recycling collection
Your recycling (in green or any other bags, but not black bags) should be put out at your property's curtilage by 6am on the correct day for it to be collected.
If it was not put out on time, or was left in the wrong place, or contained the wrong materials, or was put out in black bags, you will need to take it back in, make sure it is in the correct container, and then put it out for collection on your next scheduled recycling day in the correct place. Correct containers for recycling:
- green recycling sack
- any other clear coloured sack (except black)
- suitably sized recyclable container (which will not be returned)
- cardboard box
We will not collect any recycling bags left in a container or bin, we will not return to collect these items until they are presented correctly at the curtilage. (Terms and conditions for our recycling collections are referenced in out waste guidance).
Missed garden waste collection
If you are subscribed to the garden waste collection scheme (brown bins or paper sacks), your bin(s) or paper sacks should be put out at your property's curtilage by 7am on the correct day for them to be collected.
If your bin(s) or paper sacks were not put out on time, or left in the wrong place, or contained the wrong materials, you will need to take them back in and then put them out for collection on your next scheduled garden waste collection day in the correct place.
Missed bulky waste collection
Your bulky waste should be put out at your property's curtilage by 6am on the day you were advised (on booking) that it would be collected.
